Media/Public Relations Interns will assist with APM with establishing and maintaining media and public contacts for our clients’ events and the company. They will have a variety of responsibilities that will include, but are not limited to the following:
Publicity
- Writing press releases, artist bios, fact sheets, news paper article, blog posts, CD reviews, content for websites, etc…
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with the local, national and internet media
Securing interviews & appearances with media for clients and APM. - Researching advertising rates
Promoting clients to radio stations, tv stations, newspapers, blogs & website owners. - Securing interviews & appearances with media for clients and APM.
Securing media coverage at APM and clients events. - Assisting APM with contest design and implementation.
Online Marketing
- Infiltrating social networks, chat rooms, forums, blogs, email campaigns and other online outlets to promote your project
- Posting messages, banners, flyers on various social networks and flyers
- Maintaining and promoting clients websites and social network pages
- Maintaining and promoting APMs websites and social network pages
- Setting up chat sessions and schedules
- Writing blog posts for company and client blogs
- Infiltrating online resources to create and maintain an online buzz for APM and our clients
- Internet and Other Marketing Research
- Assisting with Email Campaigns
- Email Database Maintenance
Grassroots Marketing
- Distribute promotional materials to local retail stores, churches, radio stations, promoters etc…
- Distribute promotional materials at APM, client and competitive events.
- Creating visual displays including (sniping) hanging up posters in high traffic places around city.
- Staffing Merchandise or Promotional Tables at Events.
- Assisting with management of clients and APM street teams.
- Calling radio stations to make requests
- Submitting request to station’s website.
- Contacting local and national video shows to request videos.
- Contacting churches and other venues by email, phone and fax trying to get APM clients booked
Media/Public Relations Intern Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be enrolled in college.
- Three (3) month minimum commitment required.
- Must commit to a minimum of 10-15 hrs per week.
- Must follow policies stated in the APM Intern Handbook.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Must have daily access to computer with high speed internet connection.
- Must possess basic skills/experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power point, Web Based Email and the Internet.
- Must possess strong writing, editing, research, and analytical skills.
- Must provide us with samples of your work.
- Must meet all project requirements and deadlines
- Must provide supervisor with up to date contact information including at least one phone number
- Must provide photo documentation of all event activities.
- A cell phone is highly recommended.
- Track your time using Time Tracking Software (provided)
- Must submit a report of all postings and activities to your supervisor by assigned due date.
Media/Public Relations Intern Benefits and Compensation:
